Only two matches were played yesterday in the ACC Under-19 Championship, with Malaysia and Nepal beating Kuwait and the UAE respectively.

Kuwait batted first against Malaysia and made a respectable total of 170, Ali Mehdi top-scoring with 40. Sharul Nizam was the pick of the Malaysian bowlers with 4/31. Malaysia's reply started well with an innings of 46 from Faris Almas, but a spell of bowling from Muzammil Khalid, who took 3/32, removed the middle-order, leaving the tail-enders to take Malaysia over the line for a two wicket win.

The UAE may have thrashed Thailand the day before, but they were no match for Nepal, who showed why they've long been dominant at Under-19 level. Arjun Lanba scored 46 to lead them to 91/2, but once he was run out, the innings collapsed to 123 all out. Nepal lost Sagar Khadka for a duck early on, but an unbeaten 47 from Gyanendra Malla led them to a six wicket win in the 33rd over.
