Scotland's selectors have called up all their available English county players for the first-ever One Day International against India, to be played at the Citylets Titwood (Clydesdale Cricket Club) ground in Glasgow this Thursday (August 16), weather permitting.
Navdeep Poonia, Gavin Hamilton, John Blain and Dewald Nel will boost Ryan Watson's side for the historic match, which is sponsored jointly by Lloyds TSB Scotland and Seagrams' Royal Stag brand.
If played, this will also be the first ODI ever to be staged at the Glasgow southside ground, after the ‘offshore' international between India and Pakistan was abandoned in the rain without a ball being bowled six weeks ago.
Scotland squad: Ryan Watson (Forfarshire, captain); John Blain (Rotherham); Gordon Drummond (Watsonians); Gavin Hamilton (Bradford); Majid Haq (Ferguslie); Paul Hoffmann (Uddingston); Neil McCallum (Grange); Navdeep Poonia (Warwickshire); Dewald Nel (Worcestershire); Colin Smith (Aberdeenshire); Fraser Watts, Craig Wright (Greenock).
Over 2,000 tickets for the match have been sold in advance, and it will be possible for spectators to buy tickets on the day from the box office on Dolphin Road, adjacent to the southern entrance to the arena: prices £30 and £25 for concessions.
