With Jersey hosting this event, you'd have expected them to be amongst the favourites before the tournament started. And they have continued to confirm that status as they moved a step closer to lifting the European Under-19 Division Two title after beating the Isle of Man yesterday.

In the match at Victoria College, the Manxmen won the toss and elected to bat. No batsman got a start however, and they were dismissed for 169, five Jersey bowlers sharing the wickets around. The target was little problem for Jersey as they lost their only wicket at 99, going on to chase down the required total in their 30th over, Samuel de la Haye top scoring with an unbeaten 89.

In the group for 4th-6th place, Gibraltar took on Israel at Les Quennevais in a low scoring game. Robert Skinner took 3/10 as Israel were bowled out for just 113. Gibraltar captain Kabir Mirpuri played a true captain's innings as he held together the Gibraltar reply with an unbeaten 58. No other batsman reached double figures as wickets fell regularly, and Gibraltar reached their target with 2 overs to spare for the loss of 8 wickets. Israel's cause wasn't helped by giving away 38 runs in extras.

The battle to avoid getting the wooden spoon started as Germany took on Italy at Farmers Field. Italy batted first and scored 174 before being bowled out in the 45th over. Tarun Rawat was the pick of the German bowlers with 3/25. Rawat then top scored with 34 as Germany reached the target with just five balls to spare for the loss of 7 wickets.
