West Indies captain Chris Gayle:
"You see now what I'm talking about when you take on these teams. You can't take them for granted. You see how hard Scotland played today, and you have to give them credit for that. The spinners for them did a pretty good job, and with another spinner we could have been in a difficult position. We were calm and cool and it was nice to get to the winning total."
When asked if he was worried about another batting collapse:
"Not really, that's something we've stressed on, and it's an area we're trying to improve on but it's not going to happen overnight. It's up to the individual really to assess the situation as quickly as possible. You should be able to sit on the sidelines and watch what's going on out there, and make the necessary adjustment whenever they come into bat."
On the possible composition of the team to face Ireland:
"We were giving the guys an opportunity today, with Austin Richards and Lendl Simmons. We left out two of our best batters in Shiv Chanderpaul and Marlon Samuels. We were trying to give the guys experience at One Day International level."
Majid Haq who bowled superbly taking 4-28
"It was really pleasing to get a few wickets, but in the end it didn't count for much as we lost the game, which is obviously disappointing. We weren't in a great position when they were 95 for none, but once we got a wicket it changed. It was a difficult wicket to bat on and it could have gone either way at the end when they needed 30 off three overs. They had a set batsman in Chris Gayle and he batted really well."
On The Clontarf Wicket
"I wouldn't mind taking that wicket about with me - only with longer straight boundaries! It turned quite a bit and it was good to bowl on it in the second innings."
On bowling to Chris Gayle
"It was obviously a great honour bowling to Chris Gayle. I think I can hold my head up high, as I bowled pretty well. They obviously know they have been in a game, so that makes us proud of the way we have played."
Scotland Captain Ryan Watson
"We played well, and the wicket was always going to suit us.It was slow and didn't suit their quick seamers. They didn't pick any spinners and we couldn't have asked for a better wicket from Clontarf again."
"Chris Gayle batted magnificently. He took responsibility, and he's done that in the last three games. Captaincy has probably brought out the best in him. He was a class act and was the fifference between the two sides today, and we can learn from him.He bided his time and hits the ball beautifully. He was good, but I'm proud of the lads. I thought we were outstanding today."
"We had a game plan to come out there and bat with intent, and not let them bowl at us. We had 60 after 10 overs and got off to a nice start. We had a few 40's and 20's, myself included but we didn't kick on. It was very encouraging, and it's how we need to play cricket from here on in. I think we're a better side when we try and put the opposition under a bit of pressure."
