Fresh from the national teams triumph in Division Three of the World Cricket League, their domestic competition starts this weekend, with a new format.

After criticism that there were too many mismatches in the old format, the league has been split into two divisions for this season. The top division consists of defending champions Africa Cricket League along with Tornado, Tornando B, Nile and Wanderers. Division Two contains Rounders, Patidar, JACC, Castle, KICC, Katchimadu and newcomers Makerere University Cricket Club.

UCA administrative secretary Martin Muyomba said that the divisions have been put in place to ensure greater competiveness. There will be promotion and relegation, with the top Division Two team playing off against the bottom Division One team at the end of the season.
