Talented Ireland cricket player and County Down born Andrew White relives the amazing experience of Ireland's World Cup success in his newly-published book entitled Ireland's Caribbean Carnival - a Sport NI initiative.

Ireland's Caribbean Carnival is a joy to read for cricket enthusiasts and sports fans of all ages. Andrew White has notched up 90 matches for Ireland and he has put the same enthusiasm and energy into chronicling the Ireland teams' journey from training and preparation, through the competitive World Cup experience and playing in a host of exciting countries. Complimented with beautiful photography courtesy of principal photographer Rowland White, every page is a pleasure to read and shows the inside story of competition on the world stage, the celebrations and the journey home.

The book portrays Ireland's success story through a player's eyes and captures the unique atmosphere created by a team with organisation, dedication, passion, ability and the desire to produce one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history. The publication was commissioned as a fitting tribute to the Ireland cricket team. Andrew said

"The book is a wonderful way to help raise awareness of what was an incredible sporting journey. It has been produced in a way which will hopefully encourage our young sporting talent to try and aspire to greater heights either in cricket or their chosen sport."

Andrew and Rowland White will also be making a donation to UNICEF. Andrew acted as the ICC's ambassador in Jamaica and visited a UNICEF centre which raises awareness and helps young people deal with HIV/Aids. Andrew added, "The book also gives me an opportunity to put something back financially into the work of Unicef in Jamaica which was an extremely moving experience."

ViSport in Belfast is kindly hosting an autograph signing for Andrew White on Thursday 28 June from 6pm-8pm.
