With the USA currently suspended from the ICC, and recently having to stay at home watching as their replacements in Division Three of the World Cricket League (an event they were originally set to host) Argentina went all the way to the final and promotion to Division Two, cricket there is about to get a shot in the arm from the Marylebone Cricket Club.

A proposal is currently set to go before the committee at Lord's intending to form a body called MCC America, which is intended to help with coaching and developing the game across the Atlantic. An MCC tour of the USA is planned for 2009 to mark the 150th anniversary of the first English tour to North America, a tour that featured no less a luminary than John Wisden.

Another proposal on the cards is to create a cricketing version of the Ryder Cup, which will see the USA take on Europe at Lord's in 2010.
