Fiji's campaign for the WCL Division Three title has got off to a bad start as they lost to an Australian Indigenous XI yesterday.
The Australian Indigenous XI batted first and were dismissed for 264 from exactly 50 overs. Bradley Stout top-scored with 80, and Peter O'Callaghan also chipped in with 55. Iniasi Cakacaka and Rajeev Patel took three wickets each.
Fiji batted out their 50 over quota, but could only reach 206/9, losing by 58 runs. Iliesa Navatu and Seci Tuiwai were the only Fijian batsman to get a start, scoring 38 and 33 respectively. Worrin Williams took 3/26 for the Indigenous side.
Fiji take on the Northern Territory Institute of Sport today, whilst the Australian Indigenous team will take on Papua New Guinea. Today's other warm-up match will see Argentina take on the Cayman Islands.
