Gavin Hamilton and Paul Hoffmann could be overlooked today as selectors pick a Scottish Saltires squad to face Yorkshire in the Friends Provident Trophy on Sunday.

With overseas players George Bailey and Arno Jacobs certain to be named in the middle order, former England Test player Hamilton is likely to miss out - with Omer Hussain and Neil McCallum battling for the No 6 spot.

Strike bowler Hoffmann, 37. was told after the recent World Cup that the younger pair of Dewald Nel and John Blain were likely to share the new ball this summer.

Ferguslie batsman Hussain, 22, struck an unbeaten 47 off 51 balls in a trial match at the Grange yesterday. Clydesdale's Qasim Sheikh top-scored with 78 not out.
