Detail is scant but Banjul, Gambia will apparently be hosting the first North West African tournament from May 11-18, 2007.

The competing teams are believed to be Gambia, Mali, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Nigeria and Ghana, with all teams needing to fulfill ICC eligibility requirements.

It would be Mali's first international tournament.

At this early stage it is not known whether the new tournament is intended to usurp the long running West African Championships.

CricketEurope Worldwide hopes to provide further detail as the tournament draws closer.
