It seems that this game wasn't taken entirely seriously by England. They scored 274/7 from their 50 overs when batting, Alex Wakely top-scoring with 52, but used nine bowlers when fielding, allowing Malaysia to bat out their 50 overs for 142/9.

Malaysia's best player in this match was 16 year old Kasman Kaderi, who took 1/29 from his eight overs, and top-scored with an unbeaten 27 when Malaysia batted. It seems that too often Malaysia are relying on one player, and if they all play well, they stand a reasonable chance of causing an upset.

England and Sri Lanka now play another pool game before meeting in the final, whilst Malaysia wait just over a week for a second tri-series, this time with India replacing Sri Lanka as the third team in the tournament.
