A money spinning series between India and Australia is being planned for New York sometime this year. The games could generate US$6 million each.

It is thought that the games will be played at an NFL stadium in New York, which will probably be Giants Stadium. However, ICC playing conditions for ODIs clearly require the use of turf wickets, and Giants Stadium uses artificial turf. The size of the playing area could also be a problem.

Ontario, Canada has two ODI approved grounds, in Toronto and King City, seemingly making Canada the more viable option, but the 80,000 plus capacity of Giants Stadium dwarfs the potential crowd there. If the ICC don't allow the matches to stand as official ODIs, they will become little more than glorified exhibition games with little meaning beyond money making. Will the players be willing to sacrifice their time off to play in an exhibition series?
