After yesterdays disappointing loss to Bhutan, Thailand were hoping to gain some consolation with a victory over Iran in today's 3rd place play-off match.

Batting first, Thailand collapsed to 53/6 by the 18th over, and things weren't looking too good. However, opening batsman Wanchana Uisuk held the order together and scored 68 as Thailand batted out their 40 overs for a total of 149/9.

The Iranian batsman started well but Aditya Mehta ripped through their batting line-up taking five wickets for just six runs as Iran were bowled out for 71 giving Thailand the victory by 78 runs.

Whilst Thailand will be glad to go out of the competition with a win, they will be disappointed to miss out on a place in the final which would have secured them a spot in the next ACC Under-15 Champions tournament. As it is, Bhutan and Oman have secured those spots and will face off in tomorrow's final with Oman sure to be the favourites.
