Zimbabwe batted first in their debut women's international, scoring 166/9. None of the Zimbabwean batsman got a high score, and the top score actually came from extras, costing Uganda 39 runs. Number nine J Chanjack was the top human scorer with 29.

The Zimbabwean bowlers then put on an impressive, tight, bowling display that will surely show up their male counterparts, especially Chanjack with 3/18 from 8 overs, and skipper Chibhabha who also took three wickets, going for just ten runs from her ten overs as Zimbabwe dismissed Uganda for 103, winning by 63 runs.

In today's other match, Tanzania gained what will go down as an upset win in their match against Kenya. Tanzania batted first and 43 from Annett Banali led them to 190 before they were dismissed. Margaret Banja took 3/36 from her ten overs.

Kenya then batted awfully. As in the Zimbabwean innings in the other game, extras was the top scorer with 33. Only Margaret Banja made it into double figures with her innings of 10. Fatuma Saidi took 3/3 as Kenya were dismissed for 80.
