Bermuda's poor one-day form continued today in Potchefstroom with an eight wicket defeat at the hands of the Netherlands.

Bermuda got off to a reasonable start with an opening partnership of 50, but for once the Dutch seamers other than Ryan ten Doeschate (who went wicketless) bowled well, the pick of the bunch being Tim de Leede with 3/26 from his ten overs, for which he got the man of the match award. It took 43 from Saleem Mukuddem to lift Bermuda to a respectable total of 177 all out.

ten Doeschate may have failed with the ball, but he fired with the bat, scoring 65 from 78 balls. Bas Zuiderent also batted well with an unbeaten 63. Those innings are the highest ODI scores for both players. Maurits van Nierop chipped in with a quick 31 as the Dutch reached their target in the 38th over with a six from van Nierop.

Bermuda now have to have every result go their way if they are to reach the final. They must win both their remaining matches, getting a bonus point in each, plus rely on Canada to beat the Dutch.
