The result of this match is almost secondary to the news that former Zimbabwe captain Tatenda Taibu is playing for Namibia as an overseas player. It appears that Taibu has moved to Namibia with his family. It looks like a temporary arrangement for now, but a spokesman for the Namibian team told Cricinfo that he hopes it will become a long term arrangement. It would take at least four years for Taibu to qualify for Namibia internationally.

Taibu has only played one match in the last 12 months, and he showed signs of "ring rust" only scoring 21 batting at three for the home team. The Namibian innings was highlighted by Jan-Berrie Burger (85 from 44 balls) and Kola Burger (74 from 42 balls) who combined with the rest of the Namibian line up to reach 353/8 from their 45 overs.

Holtzhausen took four wickets for Limpopo, but at the cost of 91 runs and then completed a fine all-round performance with 69 when hist team batted, but Louis Klazinga took 4/41 to help his team dismiss Limpopo for just 185 inside 30 overs.

The presence of Taibu will certainly give Namibia a boost in this tournament, and if he does decide to qualify for them internationally, the future of Namibian cricket would be quite rosy indeed.
