The tour started on the 30th of September with the first of two games against Spain. The home team won the toss and elected to bat, and were looking good on 149/2 in the 37th over. But a collapse then occurred, and Spain were dismissed for 204. With the Isle of Man on 87/4 from 30 overs, things were looking a little tricky, but they recovered with an unbeaten 85 from Gareth Morris, who hit a six from the fourth ball of the last over to win the game by five wickets for the visitors.

One up in the series, the Isle of Man were looking to secure the series in the second match against Spain, and they did it in fine style. A 125 run opening partnership led them to a fine total of 258/4 from their 50 overs. Scott Pearce (5/25) and Andy Sewell (5/22) ran through the Spanish batting line-up, dismissing them for just 85 for a 173 run win.

Then followed two tour games. A Twenty20 match against La Manga Cricket Club was won by 45 runs, and a 45 over game against Costa Blanca All Stars saw the Manxmen finally submit to the heat, losing by 5 wickets.

All in all, a successful tour for the Isle Of Man, and they will be hoping for a similar standard of performance in the European Championship Division Three tournament next year.
