At a press conference in Beijing at the end of the inspection tour by the ICC and ACC, Malcolm Speed has said that he expects China to take part in the 2015 World Cup. "The Women's World Cup in India in 2013 is also a possibility', he told the assembled press also saying, 'I have seen fifteen year old cricketers (in Beijing) who, if guided correctly, have the ability to feature in World Cups less then ten years from now.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Shaharyar Khan, was also at the press conference, and said 'Everything I have seen points to China's successful engagement with cricket. I expect the women in particular to come along very strongly, ahead of the men, in the immediate future.'
