The Belgian Cricket Federation have appointed Fazil Mahmoud as their new head coach. The appointment initially runs to the end of March, but it is hoped that the contract will be extended by a further two years. He will be looking after the national team at all age-levels, and will also help the games expansion into school sports.

Belgian cricket is starting to show signs of progress. Despite missing five key players, the under-18s recently won a triangular tournament in Germany that also involved France. Winning a tournament involving two countries who have been associate members of the ICC for much longer than Belgium is a promising sign for the future.

The next tournament for the Belgian national team will be the European Division Three championships in 2007. They will also compete in tournaments at under-19 and under-15 level in 2007.
