Antonio Santini, who has played for Skegness Cricket Club for over 13 years could soon be turning out for the Italian national team. Santini, 27 and a trainee hair stylist, is currently playing for Italian club Campanelle in the Coppa Italia cricket tournament, and the tournament will be used to select players for the Italian squad, set to take part in the World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Los Angeles next year.

Speaking to Skegness Today, Santini said "It would mean the world to me. To actually do it would be incredible. I didn't think I would be able to get higher than I am now so to even have the opportunity to try to get scouted is like a breath of fresh air. It's like a new goal for me. I'm doing my hardest to get recognised." Even if he is not selected, he intends to play again in Italy, and is also in the process of arranging for the Italian junior side to come and play Skegness.
