The winners of the Premier Division of Ontario's five major cricket leagues will get a new experience this weekend - they will play each other. For the first time, an OCA Club Championship has been organized between these clubs and will provide us with an Ontario Champion. Four matches will be played in all, taking place around Ontario this weekend and next.

The first match takes place on Saturday September 23rd and is a play-in game to reach the semifinals. Ottawa Valley champion Canterbury will take on Crescent Cricket Club who are champions of the Hamilton & District Cricket League. The winner of that match moves forward to the first semifinal the following day against Southern Ontario Cricket Association champ Sunrise-Browne.

Next weekend, the second semifinal pits Etobicoke & District winner Young Malton against Yorkshire, winners of the Toronto & District league. Finally, on Sunday October 1st the semifinal winners will compete for the title of Ontario Club Champion at King City Cricket Club. Hopefully this new competition will catch on and become an annual event.
