TDCA ready for big playoff weekend
The Toronto & District Cricket Association Playoffs kick off this weekend with a full slate of games on both Saturday and Sunday. Matches will be played at King City as well as Ross Lord Park and by Sunday evening the dreams of many teams will be no longer.
In the Premier Division, the Saturday quarterfinals will feature Vikings v Centurions and Victoria Park v West Indian. The winners of those matches will progress to the semifinals where they will face Yorkshire and Cavaliers, respectively. Those sides earned a bye to the semifinals by virtue of their first place finish in their conferences.
In the First Division West, the quarterfinals are Ramblers v Cavaliers and Gujarat v Civics. National and Spartansuperstar wait for them in the Sunday semifinals. Centurions and Kholvad play in one of the First Division East quarterfinals on Saturday, and the winner will play Brampton Masters on Sunday. The other East quarterfinal goes on Sunday between Lion Hearts and a to-be-determined side as Caribbean Limers have one regular season match remaining to break a third place tie. Vikings wait in the semifinals for the winner of that match.
It should be an exciting weekend provided the rain holds off as the Toronto cricket season winds up to it's climactic conclusion.
