Zimbabwe duly won the Tri-Series tournament with Bermuda and Canada with a straightforward 83 runs victory over Bermuda at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.

Having already beaten the same opponents by 194 runs two days previously, Zimbabwe's 259 for seven in their 50 overs was always going to be too demanding a target for the bermudan batsmen. Vusi Sibanda finally found his elusive form as he batted through almost all of the Zimbabwean innings fo 116. From 200 for two going into the 4oth over, a final return of 259 was a disappointing final tally.

Tawanda Mupariwa struck quickly when Bemuda's reply began and he soon had both openers back in the pavilion. The middle order helped restore the situation but used up a lot of overs in doing so - eventually Dean Minors and Lionel Cann injected some pace into the innings but by then there was absolutely no chance of victory.

All the Zimbabwean bowlers performed well with Mupariwa taking 3 for 19, Blessing Mahwire captured 3 for 29 and in his ten overs Prosper Utseya took 2 for 21.

Bermuda will no doubt have learned a lot of lessons from their first three official One Day Internationals, Zimbabwe will gain some confidence after their recent heavy defeats and the heavily-outclassed Canadians go home with huge problems to try to solve.
