The Afghanistan national team will make its first tour of the United Kingdom next month.

Organiser, Peter Frawley, advised the tour, scheduled to start on June 11, would include matches against Leicestershire, Essex and Glamorgan Second Elevens and RMA Sandhurst, with the possiblity of further fixtures.

"We're hoping that the team will play in the UK until the end of the month depending on raising a little more funding and are also hoping to visit the ECB National Academy courtesy of Peter Moores."

The tour is being sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank and supported by the Afghan governement and the Afghanisatan Olympic Committee.

It is not known whether Sandhurst's most famous attendee, Prince William, will view the match.
