Ireland international batsman Eoin Morgan has been voted European Under 19 Player of 2005 by the readers of the CricketEurope website. In a poll which attracted more than 2,400 votes, more than half of them went to the young Irish star who is captaining the Ireland Under 19 team in the current World Cup tournament in Sri Lanka. Morgan has already made several appearances for Middlesex CCC and played a significant role in the Ireland senior side's two main successes of 2005 - qualification for the 2007 Cricket World Cup and the capture of the InterContinental Cup when they defeated Kenya in Windhoek.

Runner-up was the Netherland's Alexei Kervezee with Scotland's Sean Weeraratna in third place.
