NCU T20 Trophy 2022
Final
Derriaghy beat Saintfield by 6 wickets
Queensway, 8 July.
 Saintfield 115-8 (20 overs; A Sofley 28*, K Alleyne 23, G Harrison 20; R Bailey 3-8, W Hughes 2-14)
 Derriaghy 117-4 (14.4 overs; J Wade 59, M Venter 30*; K Alleyne 2-22)
T20 Trophy winners Derriaghy
Derriaghy claimed the T20 Trophy with a resounding six wickets win against Saintfield in front of a large, partisan home support at Queensway. Chasing 116, Derriaghy were rocked by the early losses of Matthew Halliday and Craig Lewis. However, any nerves were soon settled by a third wicket partnership of 82 between Jordan Wade and Morne Venter. Wade cleared the ropes 6 times, as well as hitting four boundaries in his 59 from just 31 balls. He fell to Kadeem Alleyene (2-22), who also dismissed Ross Bailey, but it was all academic as Venter’s unbeaten 30 ensured a six-wicket win in the 15th over. Earlier, the Derriaghy attack had did well to restrict the Saints to 115 for 8, with Ross Bailey (3-8) and Wayne Hughes (2-14) the best. At one stage, Saintfield were on 68 for 8, having lost five wickets for five runs, despite runs for Kadeem Alleyne (23) and Gareth Harrison (20). An unbroken 9th wicket stand of 47 in six overs between Adam Sofley – who hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in his 28 – and Mark Yeates (17*) at least got them over the 100 mark. However, Derriaghy had too much power and are deserved winners of the trophy. They will have little time to celebrate as they are back in action tomorrow in the Challenge Cup semi-final against CSNI.

Saintfield will play Derriaghy in the T20 Trophy final after they edged out Muckamore by nine runs in a thrilling semi-final at Moylena. Kadeem Alleyne's brutal assault saw him hit 5 sixes and 4 fours in an 18-ball half-century to power the Saints to 167 for 8 - 20s too for TJ McCavera, Patrick Telford and Ross Murray. Kyllin Vardhan hit 12 fours in a quickfire 60 to get the Muckamore chase up and running, with Jamie Magowan chipping in with 21. Ewan Wilson (33) looked to be steering Muckamore home, but his dismissal with 13 needed off 8 balls, proved decisive - the hosts managing only three. That completed a miserable day for Muckamore, who lost captain Sam Gordon and Stuart Dempster, who have opted to switch to promotion favourites Derriaghy.
