It's a very happy 24th birthday to Ben Wylie. The slow left-arm spinner has played for Ireland at all levels of youth cricket as well as Ireland A. The Instonians man has also represented the Northern Knights, and played first-class cricket with Cambridge University.

7:38 PM Andrew Balbirnie and Tyrone Kane the headline stealers on a day when players batted twice, three retired and there were more comings and goings than a revolving door. The scorers will certainly sleep tonight trying to make sense of a 13 wicket innings. Not quite farcical but it did provide much needed practice ahead of the first Test.

Andy Balbirnie has hit 12 boundaries so far in his 90-ball innings, while William Porterfield watchful in his 27 from 79 balls. Seven bowlers used so far including Craig Young, Peter Chase, Lorcan Tucker, Fionn Hand, George Dockrell and Simi Singh.
No shortage of thrillers as Leprechaun Cup gets under way
CL Youth/CricketEurope    Performance of the season so far goes to Castaheany's Avyay Mynampati who took 5 for 3, including four in four balls as his side beat Castleknock in a low scoring contest. Srihan Karpe also took 3 for 5 as Castaheany won by 12 runs.

Merrion pay the penalty
CricketEurope    Merrion skipper Dom Joyce admitted his team had only themselves to blame after they were penalised 12 runs for slow over rate which was to prove crucial as they lost to YMCA by 1 wicket in a dramatic opener to the new Premier era.

Nigel Jones
It's a very happy 36th birthday to Nigel Jones who played 34 times for Ireland before retiring in 2012. He played for Ireland in both the 2010 and 2012 T20 World Cups. He is still one of the most consistent performers in domestic cricket, currently skippering CIYMS.

Barry Scott was the first centurion of the season. He made 107 for Fox Lodge against his former side Strabane as the Ballymagorry side made 322 for 6. Half centuries from Aaron Gillespie, Kushpal Singh and new Sri Lanka professional Chanthura Peiris got Strabane close, but Fox Lodge closed out a 38-run win.
