THE HILLS

There is plenty of positivity around Milverton as the new campaign approaches.

Great Dane Nicolaj Damgaard Laegsgaard is back, along with Irish passport holder Sean McNicholl, who both did well in patches last season, and who will benefit from having an Irish season under their belts.

Yaseen Sherzad is one of their young players to watch - he is the younger brother of Muzamil Sherzad.

Leaving the club are Murray Commins, Mark Donegan - staying in Australia - and Jonathan Tall, who has joined Malahide.

"In terms of goals, getting back to the Premiership is obviously the main one," said a club spokesperson.

"Overall as a club 2023 was a successful season. The firsts were runners-up in the Alan Murray and Leinster league, as well as getting to the last four of the All-Ireland. The seconds, thirds and fourths all got promoted, with two of them acheving back-to-back promotions, while our fifths won a cup.

"We feel the club is certainly moving in the right direction, and hopefully we will learn from last year and return to the top table."
