PEMBROKE

  • Captain: tbc
  • Overseas Player: Nick Stapleton
  • Players in: Mark Berry and Byron McDonough
  • Players out: Theo Lawson (retired)

It's a new era at Pembroke, with Theo Lawson having retired at the end of the season.

"We’re very much looking forward to the season ahead," said a club spokesperson.

"We have strengthened with the inclusion of Mark Berry and Byron McDonough, who both will give us some much needed depth in a very competitive Premier League.

"Obviously Theo has retired, which will offer opportunities to the likes of Macdara Cosgrave, who we hope will be the first cab off the rank to score his runs this season.

"We’re also delighted that Nick Stapleton is able to return, who’s off the back of an outstanding season with St George in Sydney having being crowned NSW Premier first grade champions last weekend - form which we hope he can emulate when he lands back in Ireland.

"Should we be able to tie our performances together consistently in the early part of the season, we’re hopeful we’ll be there or thereabouts come the business end."
