Instonians have won the race to sign Irish international Neil Rock, beating off the challenge of at least two other major clubs.

The 23 year-old has won 22 caps for Ireland since his debut in 2019, but has yet to fully establish himself in the senior ranks, well behind Lorcan Tucker in the pecking order.

The free scoring left-hander made his debut for Rush in 2013, going on to play 96 times for the first team, scoring 2514 runs at 30.66, including 16 half centuries and three hundreds.

With the gloves, 'Pebbles' took 96 catches and 12 stumpings.

Instonians are the defending NCU Premiership champions, although just how much cricket Rock will play in the early part of the year, given his involvement with the Irish T20 squad remains questionable.

He won't have too far to go to impress the Head of Selectors, with Andrew White still a pivotal figure at Shaw's Bridge, helping them secure that aforementioned title.

Rock is with the Ireland team in the UAE at present, and will skipper the Wolves in Nepal later this month.
