Ireland have been handed a fixtures boost with the news that both Bangladesh and Afghanistan will travel here ahead of the World Cup next summer.

The teams will take part in a tri-series before the start of the World Cup, which runs in England from May 30 until July 15.

Afghanistan beat Ireland earlier this year to secure the final slot at the ten-team event.

They are scheduled to meet next March in India across all three formats, including both sides second Test match.

It's shaping up to be a busy summer for the Irish side after six months inactivity.

They have an ODI against England at Malahide, and Zimbabwe are due to tour here while the World Cup is ongoing.
