Thirteen players have been named by the NCU in their Andrew White Academy Squad to tour South Africa from 21st March until 5th April this year.

After a winter of indoor cricket practice and sessions embracing other sports that has widened their skillset the culmination of the Academy’s year will be a tour to Cape Town which will mix a match programme with the rigours of a high performance camp.

The aim the NCU Academy has always been to produce players capable of going on to represent the union at Interprovincial level, whether that be in the under age groups or at senior level with the Northern Knights.
With this in mind the group selected is one with a mixed age profile all of whom are seen as potential Emerging Knights.

Coaching of this group will be led by Senior Knights Coach Simon Johnston and Ireland U19 & U17 Coach Nigel Jones who will also draw on local expertise, notably from the Gary Kirsten Academy.

NCU Chairman Alan Waite will act as Tour Manger and will be accompanied by Vice-Chair Sam Beckett and Cricket Ireland president Brian Walsh, Director of NCU Representative Cricket.
