Dungannon have become the latest casualty of local cricket after they informed the NCU they won't be playing competitive cricket in 2018.

The Mid-Ulster club have endured a torrid few years struggling both on and off the field.

They lost all 12 of their games in Section Three this season and found it difficult to field 11 players.

The move has prompted the NCU to re-examine the lower league structures in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile the merger between Cliftonville and Academy has also been confirmed - both clubs were relegated from Section One this season.
