Stuart Poynter has signed a contract extension with Durham which will keep him at the county until 2019.

The 26 year-old enjoyed a successful season with the North-East club and the contract is a reward for his hard work.

"I'm very happy to sign with Durham until 2019," said Poynter.

"They are an amazing club, and I'm certainly looking forward to the future and hopefully getting Durham back into Division One and back winning trophies."

Poynter - who has won 39 caps - hasn't played for Ireland since a T20 ODI loss to Afghanistan in January, but is included in a strong Ireland Wolves squad for their 6-match tour of Bangladesh next month.
