Reports in Zimbabwe say the country has been chosen as the venue for the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Current ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar is on five-day visit to Zimbabwe and following a meeting with Minister of Sports Makhosini Hlongwane, the latter informed that Zimbabwe would be the host.

The news will come as a blow to Ireland and Scotland who had put forward a joint bid, as well as the UAE.

The tournament will take place in June/July 2018, where the weather conditions are traditionally dry and sunny.
