INSTONIANS II’s triumph in the GMcG Junior Cup on Saturday, completed a memorable five days for the Shaw’s Bridge club.

The top two scorers in their 53 runs win over Civil Service North II were James Hunter (39) and Oliver Metcalfe (33) who, the previous day had starred in Instonians Graham Cup triumph over Lisburn. Last Tuesday.

It was the turn of the Midweek team to lift the trophy, following their six wickets victory in their final game, also against Civil Service North.

It was Carrickfergus II, the Junior 2 League leaders who deprived Instonians III of a place in this Saturday’s Intermediate Cup final at The Meadow, Downpatrick with a last ball victory in the semi-final. Carrick’s opponents, are Donaghcloney Mill II, who although relegated last year will be looking for a hat-trick of Junior 2 scalps after knocking out Civil Service North III and Academy II.
