DOAK AND METCALFE STAR AS IRELAND U15 BOYS BEAT SCOTLAND

Ireland Under 15's beat Scotland by four wickets in the opening game of their Celtic Cup series in Ayr.

Scotland made a strong start reaching 107 for 2, but were pegged back by a superb display by Lisburn seamer Nathan Doak, who claimed 4 for 36 with his seamers.

Instonians left-armer James Hunter took 2 for 15, while spinners Scott Ruttle and Kyle Magge each claimed 1 for 18 as Scotland made 169 for 8 in their 50 overs.

Oliver Metcalfe's hard-hit 51 ensured the Irish were always ahead of the game, and despite a slight wobble mid-innings, Kyle Magee's unbeaten 37 ensured the win with 7.1 overs in hand.

The teams meet again tomorrow (WED) in an extra game after Monday's scheduled game was a complete wash-out.
