THE Twenty20 inter-provincial series resumes on Friday evening (5pm), with the Northern Knights hosting the Munster Reds at Carrickfergus.

It’s Carrick’s first senior inter-pro and they are sure to put on a good show off the field, if their previous T20 nights are anything to go by. The fact that the two teams have been cut adrift at the bottom of the table will not matter a jot, the Knights’ only victory so far in their first game against the Reds, who are still waiting for their first win in their debut season.

Leinster Lightning can win the title for a third successive year – with a game to spare – if they win the other game that night, against North West Warriors at Merrion, and leave the Warriors regretting their rained-off match against the Reds in Cork.
