It’s another busy week for the North West Warriors.

Boosted by victory over the Northern Knights, they have a Championship game, starting on Tuesday, at Oakhill against Leinster Lightning followed by a Twenty20 game on Friday against the Munster Reds at Eglinton (5pm).

Interestingly, the Warriors reined back from playing two professionals against the Knights – “the plan is to use them as sparingly as we can”, said coach Ian McGregor last week - and, having resulted in their first win, they have a decision to make ahead of this week’s action. Imran Butt was the one overseas player used at Strabane.

Also on Friday, the Knights host Lightning at Shaw’s Bridge and, already, it is a must-win for the NCU side. Indeed, if the Reds beat Warriors, Lightning can retain the trophy with two games to spare!
