Wednesday morning saw a crowd of more than 120 Primary School kids and their teachers gather at the Bleachgreen for the Ardmore 'Cricket Blitz', which was overseen by a number of club and regional coaches.

North West Administrator David Bradley said that the club and indeed the Union were delighted with the participation levels and added that they would look to retain the event on an annual basis.

"Ardmore as a club are very proactive in promoting cricket in the local schools and today is testament to that. Last year's event was wiped out by the weather, but as you can see there are six different schools represented here this morning in excellent conditions."

"We are grateful to the schools and their teaching staff for helping to make this such a successful day and obviously to the volunteers and coaches who came along to help."
