The North West Warriors have announced their squad to play their first Interprovincial game against Munster Reds at the Mardyke on Friday evening.

As expected there are a couple of changes to the panel as selectors were held up by several unavailabilities.

Johnny Thompson, Davy Scanlon and William McClintock have joined Gary McClintock and Andy Britton on the sidelines for the 600-mile round-trip, albeit Head Coach Ian McGregor does have decent options to bring in.

Ballyspallen teenager Graham Kennedy returns to the frame having done really well on his only Warriors' appearance so far and Brigade bowler Ryan Macbeth is rewarded for a good start to the domestic season, while Ardmore's Ryan Brolly was a late replacement for Niall McDonnell.

As well as the distance involved it is clear that a packed weekend programme has complicated things for the Head Coach.

It is believed the squad will travel down to Cork tomorrow morning and stay in Dublin on the way back tomorrow night.

That will mean players leaving their hotel early on Saturday morning to be back for vital league matches in the afternoon followed by 2nd round games in the Irish Senior Cup for the majority of them the following day.

It is a big demand on players- especially non-contracted members of the squad, however McGregor refused to be drawn and suggested that their full focus was now on their game with Munster and nothing else.

"It is important that players and coaching staff focus on the job in hand. We're looking forward to our first meeting with Munster and the challenges that brings. We'll leave the scheduling situation for another day although it is a discussion that certainly needs to happen."

The squad in full is-

A McBrine (Capt)
R Allen
RL Dougherty
A Gillespie
G Kennedy
S Lazars
R Macbeth
