Neil MacraeJersey Head Coach Neil MacRae has been awarded Channel Island Coach of the Year for 2016. In a year that saw his side lift the ICC World League 5 trophy, produce their best performance in World League 4 despite relegation and regain the inter insular title it was topped off with a deserved award for the scotsman.

Speaking at the event MacRae was quick to point out "im accepting this award on behalf of the coaching team. There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and we have some really talented coaches working hard to help the squad."

When asked about the youthful look of his recent squads he said "we have a number of home grown players coming through our system and this is just the start as we have more in the pipeline".

The evening also saw Ron Halliwell pick up the Michael Lucas Sporting Hero award for outstanding contribution to sport in Jersey. Ron has been a vital part of the League Management Committee for many years and works closely with Walkovers Cricket Club. His efforts off the sporting field are inspiring and this award could not have been more fitting.

The Jersey national team were also nominated for Team of the Year.
